Telemedicine works through Teladoc Health, a virtual care service with a network of licensed and trusted providers.  Teladoc Health provides 24-hour access to in-network providers for non-emergency health issues, at no cost to you.

Teladoc Health is like going to a normal doctor visit but the comfort and safety of your own home! Get medical advice, a diagnosis or a prescription. Plus, specialist referrals, labs and behavioral health.

SilverSummit Healthplan members have access to Teladoc Health visits at no cost.  

Non-emergency health issues such as:

  • Colds, flu and fevers
  • Rash, skin conditions
  • Sinuses, allergies
  • Respiratory infections
  • Ear infections
  • Pink eye
  • Behavioral health

Teladoc Health is a virtual visit with an in-network doctor over the phone or via video chat. After you set up your account, you can schedule your visit. Then, you and your doctor will meet to discuss your health issue or questions.

Ease and safety — for you and for others. A normal doctor visit can take weeks or months to get into. Or you may not be able to find a provider near you who accepts your health insurance. A normal doctor visit also means leaving home. Plus, waiting in a waiting room where you may be exposed to sick people. Teladoc Health gives you access to anytime, anywhere care.

ER visits should only be used for life-threatening injury or health issues. When you go to the ER for non-emergency issues, you take away care from those who need it more.

Yes. You can request the soonest visit on demand or schedule one in advance for a day and a time that is best for you.

Yes! Teladoc Health visits can be scheduled at all hours, day or night. Limits apply for behavioral health services, which are open weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
