On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact “a substantial proportion of people in America” and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. Past Webinars: Help Fight the Syphilis Epidemic and Information on Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC)

Syphilis cases are on the rise in the United States.

Syphilis cases have increased 80 percent in the past five years (all stages and congenital syphilis).  There were more than 3,700 congenital syphilis cases reported in 2022, reflecting an alarming 937 percent increase in the past decade.

One test can save 2 lives.   Syphilis testing is recommended at the first prenatal visit for all pregnant women regardless of the risk factors.  Testing is free and easy.

Silversummit Healthplan hosted webinars on March 6, 13 20 and April 3 so we all can help fight the syphilis epidemic.  The webinar also included information about Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC).  LARC is an innovative strategy to help reduce the rate of unintended short interval pregnancies (pregnancies that occur within 18 months of delivery).
