Services We Cover
Housing Supports & Services (HSS) may help eligible Members who are homeless or may lose housing to find a place to live and keep it. SilverSummit Healthplan covers HSS under Nevada Medicaid’s In Lieu of Services (ILOS) benefit.
Services are based on Member eligibility, provider availability, authorization requirements, required documentation, and Medicaid program rules.
- Specialized Case Management (SCM): screening and assessment, Housing Support Plan, and coordination of housing-related supports
- Housing Transition Supports: help searching for housing, filling out applications, and working with landlords
- Housing-Related Deposits: Housing-Related Deposits: approved security and utility deposits and approved move-in costs, when applicable and approved, limited to one time per lifetime
- Housing Sustainment Services: coaching and support to help Members keep housing and address barriers
Good to know: HSS does not pay for ongoing monthly rent or room and board.

Members may qualify for HSS if they:
- Are enrolled and active in SilverSummit
- Are homeless or may lose housing based on Nevada Medicaid HSS program criteria
- Meet Nevada Medicaid HSS eligibility requirements, including applicable health-related or social risk criteria
Examples of qualifying health-related or social risk criteria may include:
- Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
- Serious
- Emotional Disorder or Disturbance (SED)
- Substance
- Abuse Disorder (SUD)
- Risk of entering an institution or experiencing overdose
- Risk of a behavioral health crisis or ER use
- Pregnant or gave birth within the last 60 days
- Released from jail, prison, hospital, or a treatment facility in the last 90 days, or expected to leave one in the next 30 days
- Survivor of domestic violence or human traffickin
- Are expected to:
- Benefit from housing support, and
- Keep housing with services
SilverSummit confirms eligibility based on Nevada Medicaid HSS rules and required documents.
